(Though, the fact Assad is a member of a formerly oppressed minority is a big part of the story. If he falls, they will get slaughtered.)

Not sure why we lob missiles at Syria, but remain friendly with the new Egyptian regime, but that's a debate for after said missile lobbing.

I'm interested to see if Syria goes Saddam Hussein on Israel in retaliation.

Why is it shocking the U.S. is cozy towards the Egyptian military? You think the military aid goes to line the pockets of generals?
