Something to think about ... Gay's 9.71 would have been the world record 366 days ago (before Bolt's 9.69 on Aug. 16, 2008). Now it's not even close in a relative sense.

Someone on TV said that's running at 30 mph.

However, as a wise Moddy I know said once....this might be worthy of it's own discussion.

 

Except it's the only discussion on that thread, since no one cares about the women's heptathlon.

 

In that case, a mod can delete it, as I suggested in the opening post of this thread.

Maybe because he's so much taller compared to the rest of the field, it appears that he doesn't get off to the best start. But once he reaches the last 60 meters or so he is absolutely flying, and it's a wondrous thing to behold.
