    Something to think about ... Gay's 9.71 would have been the world record 366 days ago (before Bolt's 9.69 on Aug. 16, 2008). Now it's not even close in a relative sense.

    Didn't see a thread on this. If there's one, a mod can take this one down.

    Apparently, Bolt ran 9.58 today at the World Championships.

    Someone on TV said that's running at 30 mph.

    Silly.

    Maybe because he's so much taller compared to the rest of the field, it appears that he doesn't get off to the best start. But once he reaches the last 60 meters or so he is absolutely flying, and it's a wondrous thing to behold.
