    Surely he couldn't take it anymore. His choice still could mean he's taking a buyout. The suits have to be ecstatic losing his salary.

    Bob's great. An outstanding writer, excellent company. I suggest that he might be ready for at least semi-retirement, doing a different form of writing than the daily columnist gig.
