I've heard that the Price is Right Live show in various casinos might be a testing ground for future hosts. They play many of the same pricing games that the main show uses, so obviously they'd be intimate with the job.

I'll miss Bob Barker, but I'd miss the show more if they went dark, so I'll stomach the replacement.

And I was I had some sort of device or button that would play the Losing Horns every time somebody did something stupid or failed at life or whatever. It's timeless stuff.

I do have a copy of the Losing Horns on my computer, but now I need to get it to a hand-held device like an MP3 player or something so that whenever something sucks, I can hit the button and express myself.

"You haven't written a good story on my daughter on the cheerleading team yet!"

    *dum dum dum-dum, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

It would be potentially useful in a lot of situations:

    --"Dad, can I have $20?"
    --*dum dum dum-dum, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

--"Can you come in Saturday and work on the TPS reports?"
    --*dum dum dum-dum, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

--"Sir, if I can get you this Chevy Cavalier for list price, will you buy it from me today?"
    --*dum dum dum-dum, DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*

The game I hate the most -- and they may have removed it -- is the one where the contestant has to write a check for an amount to be added to the value of a prize, and the total has to be within a certain range.

NO ONE can figure this game out. It takes 5 minutes and two IRS agents to explain the rules.

The Check Game? I never understood why the players didn't get it (the blue hairs I understood, but not the big-boobied Pepperdine sweatshirt'd coeds). You see a prize. You guess the amount of the prize, then you add an amount of money to it so that it stays in the range you're alloted.

Say the prize is something that you're pretty sure is about $2,000 MSRP. Your check game range is $5-$6,000. So you write a check for $3,500. Then you win and you get to take the big check to Bank of America and try to deposit it in the ATM. Fun for all.

But yeah, the rules are a little hard to properly explain without being able to cite examples.

I always hated the bulls-eye game with all the household products you had to guess the price on. Huh?

    Best games:
    1. Plinko (with the chance to win up to $100,000 in cash!)
    2. The yodeling dude, called Cliff Hangers (thanks wikipedia!)
    3. Race Game ($2,750 for a washer! Gawd people are dumb)
    4. Money Game (el Cheapo never fails)
    5. Ten Chances (the single hardest fucking game on that show)
