I lived in an extreme northern climate about 15 years ago. In the middle of a December blizzard, I slid all over streets to get to the Blockbuster that was up a steer hill that was nearly impossible to climb. Rolled in five minutes after the midnight closing time. I asked the manager of duty for some latitude, given the weather. He shook his head and said "no, sorry".

It was only $3. I never returned to another Blockbuster again.

Blockbuster lost me for a $3 charge.

Attention, Mizzou: Do not move to Wassilla or anywhere else in Alaska.

    And yes...they are being facetious.

I just drove past a functioning Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, two weeks ago. I assume it's a movie and weed place now.

Better add snacks to that mix for maximum profit.

I don't know this to be true, but I think there's an excellent chance that feed is actually from the same guy who does the @EpcotCentre Twitter account. There's a very similar sense of humor involved.

I worked at Blockbuster for a year and a half in college.

Remarkable how many wives angrily swore to us that their husbands brought back the movie on time.

I would say that a good 3/4 of people with late fees tried to argue their way out of them. It was exhausting, but good prep for dealing with my kids. About everything.
