Blind date etiquette ... UPDATED

    If it's your friends who know her, why don't they just invite her out when you all go out together? That way, you've got a group dynamic with little pressure to "hit it off."

    You start talking and if there's a pause, there's always someone else around to pick up the slack. There's plenty of subjects you can hit -- embarrassing stories about your mutual friends are always fun -- and you don't have to necessarily "carry" the conversation through two or three hours.

    At the end of the night, if you have hit it off, you get her number and get together without the group next time. If not, there's no awkwardness at the end of the night and you can all go your separate ways.
