    But I'm left with a lot of questions regarding this story. Like, for one, how is this legal? Or ethical?

    Why would it be illegal?

    If someone walks into a store and asks to purchase a can of soda and insists on paying $5 for it even though the buyer sees the price listed as $1, is it illegal?

    Now, being as the guy is an oil broker, I can imagine that this certainly helped him out with other shares that he previously owned.

    No, I suppose it's not illegal. But jeebus, it's my ass he's fucking when he does it. And I don't much appreciate it.

    The guy needs to suffer the same fate as I wish on Comcast.

    Okay, maybe not that bad, but he can go somewhere hot, along with the rest of the oil industry.
