What are we, 8/9 posts in and nobody thinks it's possible this story is BS?

 

Not surprised. Racism is still prevalent in Asia. Hell, even in Japan - which is a hell of a lot more progressive than China - some bars are "Japanese-only."

Can we just pull out of this Olympics now?

ft - i really don't think that's the answer. a lot of people freakin' hate the good ole USofA, and we get the games quite often.

 

FDR started looking for ways to secretly support Britain and France militarily from the moment WW2 broke out in 1939 but couldn't do anything aboveboard because at time time public sentiment was against getting involved and the Neutrality Acts of 1937 and 1939 made it nearly impossible. Once public and Congressional support for isolationism eroded, he was able to get the draft reinstated in 1940, signed the Destroyers For Bases Agreement with Britain in late summer 1940 and the Lend-Lease Act passed in 1941.

And since NBC will have the Games on lockdown to the point where other networks won't be able to show a single second of footage or video from a venue until after the NBC primetime show, I really doubt the other nets will have any qualms about blowing this story out.
