So...I dropped my crackberry tonight. Screen is not working, red light is on -- nothing else. USB hookup is not reading anything.

I rushed it to a couple of stores, said there was nothing they can do.

All I want are the contacts. Most are backed up, a few aren't. Is there any way they can be saved?

It's not synched to an Outlook account? They might be on your SIM card.

They should transfer with the sim card.

You tried taking out the battery, letting it sit 5 minutes or so, and then putting it back in?

No sim card on this one -- 8700 series.

However, I am glad to report, that after one hour of charging, it has miraculously recovered. The battery switches were not working.

    Thank God.

Glad to hear it. My head would explode if my BB blew up.

    Now, BACK UP THOSE CONTACTS!!!!

Yes, back them up! Not a crackberry, but I dropped my phone 40 feet last weekend in a VERY crowded place. By some miracle, not only did I find it, it still works. However, the thought of loosing everything I have on there freaked me out.
