Looks like Artemis dressed up for the occasion....

 

Maybe they were appreciated in their time, but they've always been considered a regional band, almost a novelty by many northerners and coastal types. Kids who worship at the altar of Hendrix and Zep think Skynyrd is a joke, and they couldn't be more wrong.

 

I think it's just that Powell had heard "PLAY FREEBIRD!" one time too many.

 

Can you imagine sitting in the recording studio when they are laying out their first album and they played this song for the first time?

Jesus, what a freeking song.

Three days after. They were on their way to give a concert here when the plane crashed. Like Boom and someone else, I had both versions of the cover in my album collection.

And I don't know what technology was used to change the cover, but it certainly wasn't PhotoShop.

The only problem that I have with Skynard is that it is impossible to dance to "Free Bird".

There is no easy way to transistion from the slow part to fast part. Last time I tried I almost gave 21 whiplash

 

The proper dance move for Freebird is, while seated, raise your right hand to your mouth, drink and repeat.

A vet will start that song with a full one as well.
