9x platinum for their 70s output is not underappreciated. Misunderstood? Hardly. Turn on any classic rock station in the country and you're bound to hear several of their songs - even deep album cuts - on any given day. Also if they were underrated or misunderstood then why do they routinely sell out venues every summer?

I think Skynyrd gets about as much credit as they deserve. Many other great American bands aren't as fortunate.
