And, poof, the Magic deal disappears:

Donovan -- now you see him in Orlando and ... now you don't.

Did Orlando find out that his resume isn't what he said it was? ;D

The oldest of Donovan's four (I believe, maybe three) children just completed his freshman year at a new Catholic high school in Gainesville. Donovan was instrumental in fundraising for the school and his dad coaches the basketball team. He's very family-oriented and this plan to coach the Magic, keep the family in Gainesville and get there when he could from Orlando always seemed fraught with logistical problems. Orlando's as close to Gainesville as one can get in the NBA, but not close enough if you want to maintain a home in Gainesville.

The "change of heart" may have been as simple as re-thinking these logistics.

    114 miles

That is a long commute home from work.

Nothing wrong with being Dean Smith instead of Phil Jackson.

I heard on a radio program that Donovan was so touched by the emotional goodbye that he got on Friday that when he woke up on Saturday, he had a change of heart, and that's why he backed out.

No, it doesn't but I am just saying what is being said north of the border. It is sugar coated that's for sure.
