I mean, it's not even close, is it?

He's had about as high an ROI as any individual journalist could.

This seems like ESPN should send him the clip of Draper screaming 'That's what the money's for' at Peggy. Since he speaks in pop culture references and all. What more does he want from them?

In some ways, but the impression I got about KO is that his peers and those who worked for him hate him. I haven't heard that about Simmons. To me, that's a huge difference; much more telling than whether you get along with your bosses.

I think he has. I've never seen a breakdown, but I've been told his blog is by far the most read thing on the site and has been for some time...

I'm sure it is. It's free and it's a running, consistent element.

The trick is convincing advertisers to pay big money to an ad on the site. Do you crave Subway when you see an ad for it on Grantland?

Simmons is a high-profile presence with a large fan base whom ESPN would be sorry to lose -- for about two hours. Then they'd just pick some other prolific writer with acceptable TV skills and they'd create a profile and audience for that person through relentless promotion. They could pick someone from this board and do it quite easily. They've made stars of people most viewers can't stand, like Kiper and Lunardi.

Someone from here, huh? Who should they pick?

    Ruben Rivas of course.

But Peggy was right and Don was wrong.

Is Grantland his copyright? Does that name walk with him?
