    Back in the day --- oh, about 15 years ago --- I wrote a column that pissed people off. They left me voicemails, which I transcribed and ran in the next column, in part to give them a modicum of equal space in the newspaper. Or at least some space. Anyhow, I can see where those readers might have viewed those voice mails as private communication. They stopped leaving voice mails after the second column, by the way.
