Bill Clinton ... he's not bitter at all, is he?

Or, maybe I was hoping that this thread would actually go back to being about Bill Clinton being bitter about his wife losing rather than 15 people going off on one sentence from a fairly lengthy post.

    I should have known better.

Bill Clinton is just making sure that his legacy is a bitter whiner.
And I'm loving every second of it.

This was the most clearly-valuable Dem POTUS nom since '76 (in the wake of Tricky and "Huh? Wha?" Ford).

Hillary sure as hell knew it, which is why she waved off any thought of '04 with a laugh. Never mind she might have given W a better fight than Kerry did. She knew what was coming, and wanted the cinch.

She wasn't the only one who knew it, though.

And the other guy was far better prepared than she was.

What was BO supposed to do, roll over?

    Bill? Presumptuous jerk.

She was smart not to run in 2004, but who knew Obama was going to become a superstar at that convention? Even then, Hillary had to think he would wait until 2012 or 2016 before running. She definitely thought she was going to have smooth sailing to the nomination.

So Hillary should really blame Jeri Ryan's lack of adventure?

There's a lot to be said for that...

. . . and the inherent arrogance of that presumption sowed the seeds of her eclipse.

I think that was the biggest part of her campaign failure that most people will never understand.
She coasted because she assumed the nomination was a given to her.
When they realized it was much too late, they overspent, ran into debt and took the napalm approach.
She wasn't very leadership-like at all.

I thought she didn't win the nomination because of sexism?

Nah. It was because not enough hardworking, white Americans voted.

This is what I was thinking, reading the story. It's a hit piece that starts with a preconceived notion.
"Even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence."
How "loyal" would they really be? Or how hard would it be to make this up?
And I am, as I've noted here several times, an Obama supporter.

Maybe there is a reason why this story hasn't run in paper in the US. I'm not saying the guy made it up, but when the only "real person" quoted in the story is Klein, it's very fishy.
