Biggest Pet Peeve

    There were four washers and four dryers for the 32-unit complex I used to live in. No guarantee they all were in working order at the same time. Then the town's only laundromat closed down so Sonic could expand its parking lot. This meant that you either put with long waits or drove 25 miles to the nearest town with laundromats.

    When I lived in an apartment complex with public washers, I always observed the 10-minute rule. If I get there and all the washers and dryers are full and done, you have 10 minutes to get your stuff. If you're not there, it goes on the table and my stuff goes in. You can sort your clothes while waiting, if you wish.
    That gives the offending party a few minutes of leeway, and gives you some room to keep from looking like a total dick.
