I assume the title game will be played at either Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy or Soldier Field on an annual basis. Maybe Browns Stadium, too.

Wisconsin will be paired with Minnesota.

That was my snarky attempt to say that everybody wants to play Illinois because they suck.

Already announced the first title game in 2011 will be at Lucas Oil.

The inaugural championship game will be played in Indianapolis.
Four of the "protected" crossovers are pretty easy to figure out.

    Michigan-Ohio St.
    Minnesota-Wisconsin
    Michigan St.-Penn St.
    Northwestern-Illinois

Iowa, Nebraska, Indiana & Purdue don't have natural crossover opponents.

Michigan State and Penn State aren't really rivals. Nobody really cares about that game.

    Man, that sucks for Wisconsin.

I agree. But it's a "trophy" game because MSU didn't have an end-of-season rival to play prior to Penn State joining the league.

Indiana has no natural crossover opponent? What about the battle for the Old Brass Spittoon with Michigan State?

(Oh, Michigan State leads that series 41-11? Never mind.)

Iowa-Nebraska and Indiana-Purdue seems to make sense geographically, even if they haven't developed anything resembling a rivalry to this point

The state of Indiana would disagree vehemently with you on the latter.

I believe Lee Corso, when he coached Indiana, noted there were only three games you had to win to keep your job there: homecoming, Kentucky and Purdue. (A shame Indiana and Kentucky don't play anymore.)
