Or maybe Sandy finally moved on to a better paper. He's been in Big Rapids AT LEAST 10 years.

(I have no idea where Sandy is or what's up with him leaving).

As an aside, the Ferris women's coach is Carlton Fisk's daughter-in-law.

Any place that uses the 37.5 hour work week gets a red flag from me. Something just seems off about that.

Good point on Sandy. He knows his stuff.

Why is there something off about it? Some places are required by labor laws or union contracts to have 37.5-hour weeks. A few out there still have 35-hour weeks.

Isn't France legislated for 35-hour-workweeks? Wonder what newspaper life is like over there.

UPDATE: I ran into Bob Allan tonight at state volleyball -- turns out Sandy was the one who left to take a marketing job at Ferris. The job is SE and Ferris writer, and Bob is sticking around as prep sports editor.

They're still looking, or so Bob tells me. Good luck.

Big Rapids is stuck between NoWhere, Mich., and WhatthefuckamIdoinghere, Mich. This is an entry-level job. Work it a year and move on.
