Well if there was any doubt before, its crystal clear now that the train has left the station.

It's what BYH said about the shark.

What sucks is that SI used to have a sacred process for choosing the cover. They'd comb through everything they'd shot to find that magic "one."

That's all out the window now because this was obviously pre-planned.

    It's so sad. :(

If they really wanted to be edgy they should have had John Amaechi on the cover in a Speedo. It also would have been timely in promoting his book.

While I agree with Luggie and BYH on the usual pre-planning for the cover, I'm intrigued by the choice. Sure, it was done to sell mags. It also was some nice outside-the-box thinking.

BS - it could not have been more inside the box. What's the over / under of how many magazines that you will see Beyonce on cover of in next month.

SI was always about credibility. Not anymore.

True. It's better than having some waif model on the cover, though.

Beyonce is beautiful, but this cover ignores what may be her most endearing feature. I think Chris Rock said it best, and I paraphrase, because he was talking about J-Lo: "Beyonce' may be the Commodores, but the Aaaassss ... is Lionel Richie"

Are you really debating the credibility of the Swimsuit Issue?

No - bigger - the entire magazine.

The website has on average four links and pics of Jenn Sterger on any given day.

The apocalypse has already arrived, and it brought sequins.
