After that run and his previous crap job, I have NO faith in War Pass. At all.

I'm taking 10-1 Bob Black Jack in the Santa Anita, only because of my gambling jones.

The old man used to say that about jai-alai too when he'd spend our family vcacations in Florida at Calder (or whatever was running) during the day and Dania jai-alai at night.

*sigh* No idea why the 4 horse (my pick) weaved so much coming down the stretch. Oh well.

for saratoga, Go on a wednesday or thursday in the middle of the meet. If it's a nice day, you'll have a good crowd but not too crowded, you'll be able to bet because there won't be huge friggin' lines and you'll get a good place to see all the action.
And as mentioned before, check the ticket before you leave the window. But, if you are a newbie at betting on the horses, the tellers are pretty good about helping you out. My family goes to Saratoga just about every year, but my dad is still a betting newb, and the tellers really do a good job of showing him the right way to bet.

War Pass is headed in the wrong direction. He doesn't belong in the Derby and if he does run, forget him in every wager you make. That's just not the same horse of six/eight months ago, which is how the game goes. Ya never know.

He blew a .16 after the race. He was all over the place in the last eighth.

Penn National's done the same. Opened its casino two months ago. Racing is definitely secondary there now.

I've bet horses, and I've bet jai alai. I had about 20 times better time with the jai alai.

Fenian, be my guest. If the old man was still here he'd be flattered and telling me (in his thock Scottish brogue": "Jes remember where the fuck yae heard it!"

Somehow, I hit the $180 exacta in the Illinois Derby. I thank my junkie friend for the first horse and an article in the DRF for the second. My pick in the three-horse box, Dennis of Cork, is still running.

When I cashed I made two Derby future plays: $10 on Pyro at 5-1, $10 on the field at 13-1.
