A new book is out that claims the Roswell UFO wasn't an alien spacecraft, but was a Soviet spy plane that had genetically-engineered children in it to cause a panic.

This is part of the plot of Quartermass And The Pit, the classic Hammer sci-fi alien invasion/ghost/origin-of-human existence movie from the late 1960s.

When the Brits find what appears to be (and is) an alien spacecraft in the London Underground, the British military tries to explain it away by claiming the Nazis sent V2s to England with mock-ups of aliens to cause a panic.

HA! You're caught, you unoriginal fuck!

And thus ends the geekiest post in SJ history.
