    image.jpeg This wasn't really a fair fight, but it was fun to watch.

    The 1972 Minnesota-Ohio State basketball brawl, which was started by a Gopher player kneeing Ohio State's Luke Witte in the groin, and included Ron Behagen stomping on Witte's head and Dave Winfield knocking another OSU player out cold, probably deserves mention (the only footage I've ever found doesn't really do it justice:
    )

    I watched this as it happened, but didn't remember the color commentator (Andre Ware?) advocating for the state troopers to break out the billy clubs and police dogs. Holy shit, can you imagine the social media reaction today?

    For college football: Miami vs. Florida International

    What makes me smile at one point, in the background, as the players are fighting, you can see one of the Miami cheerleaders running across the field with the Miami flag. Nothing like celebrating a touchdown while all hell is breaking loose a few yards away.

    I loved how the color guy talks about how professional the police were for not using excessive force then immediately says they should have turned dogs on the players.

    That's the one that had the injured FIU player walking towards the fight on crutches.

    The '86 Mets sparked THREE brawls.

    You don't mess with Ray Knight (former Golden Gloves champ) and Kevin Mitchell (raised on the streets of San Diego).

    Lamar Thomas ("You don't bring that mess into the O-B!") Whatever happened to his broadcasting career?
