    Worked almost every holiday through 15 years in the newsroom. Never had anything particularly interesting happen on a holiday shift.
    The Y2K NYE was a little funny. Entire staff had to work, but nothing happened. I was the cops reporter, and we had a funny shooting result from celebratory gun fire.

    Left newspapers six years ago. Haven't worked a holiday since.

    I thought Vero Beach was the most depressing town in Florida.
