    is it really a uniform if it's just one dude? (sorry, don't mean to take away from the awesomeness of the jumpsuit, but still)

    honestly, though, the belt buckle -- totally superfluous -- makes the outfit

    Bunch of uniformed guys with a deathwish... at least before they turn 60. Of course, that's where Evel is now.

    And I, along with how many millions of my closest friends, am thrilled by that awesome sacrifice.

    Knievel was the coolest cat in America for about five years.

    Knievel is not in a uniform he is in a costume...like a circus performer.

    Last I looked, NFL teams wore uniforms, and actually had some purpose in what they do on the field every week...as do baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer players.

    Knievel is/was a sideshow character...entertaining at first, redundant and boring very quickly. Perhaps your definition of "the coolest cat in America" but surely not mine.

    It's more than a costume -- the collar actually helped keep him airborne for another 20 yards per jump. Sort of like the Flying Nun.
