Seeing one of the UT threads, which made the point that Rocky Top isn't the official fight song (a fact many Vol fans don't even know), made me think of this. What are the best college songs that aren't the official fight song, but kick ass anyway.

My vote: Bowling Green's Ay Ziggy Zoomba.

"All right now" when Stanford's band is allowed to have a band. First time I heard them playing that was 1991's big game on TV. I was 14 at the time and thought that was pretty cool. Of course, USC ripped it off.

Ole Miss' fourth-quarter starter, "I Saw The Light" is a personal favorite of mine.

Of course, it's usually, "I Saw The Light, then lights out."

I can't take credit for that. It was a hed in our paper once :-\

It used to be, until the opposing teams finished the chant: B-G-S-U!(c-k-s)

The best trash talking I've ever heard came from the Ole Miss student section about two years ago.

When Mississippi State's band play it's fight song, which ends "Go, State. Go, State," the Ole Miss students would drown 'em out with, "Troy, State. Troy, State."

Odessa Permian's unofficial fight song is "Hawaii Five-O."

I've always been a fan of the theme from Empire Strikes Back when the defense takes the field. Notre Dame does it. I'm sure others do, too.

Of course, it would be cooler if Notre Dame's defense were a bit more menacing.

The UGA band plays Bad LeRoy Brown every time the 'D' makes the play. Count me a fan of the march medley as well... and yeah, the Glory Glory intro is pretty sweet too..

As for unofficial fight songs, any band that plays "The Horse" by an artist I can't name from the 60's, is fine by me

I think all marching bands should be required by law to play Louie Louie.

    Maryland: Gary Glitter's Rock-N-Roll part 2.

So good the administration banned the school band from playing it.
