JR, you'll be happy to know the Chesley Inn has since closed down. It was about three years ago IIRC. It may have been the scummiest bar I've ever been in, and that's saying a lot.

I can believe it, Huggy, but let me guess -- the ratio of soldiers to civilians was 5 to 1 or even higher, right? Around here it seems like that's the only way army boys know how to fight. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately they travel only in packs.

Yes, but is the Chesley Bakery still around? Best damn butter tarts I've ever had.

As far as I know it's still open but to be honest I'm not sure.

Since summer is fast approaching, you should make the trip up here for the best ice cream you'll ever taste -- at the Big Bay General Store on the Island View Drive between Wiarton and Owen Sound.

    You buying?

Funny you mention Owen Sound. Got me thinking of the Bruce Peninsula which got me thinking of Tobermory which got me thinking, "It's time to take a trip to Manitoulin".

It probably would be for you since you can be in Parry Sound in the amount of time it would take me to get from here to the Tub to catch the damn boat.

I curse the lack of a freeway, one of the many things Robarts and Davis should have given us but didn't back in the '60s and '70s when the money flowed a lot more freely from Queen's Park than it does now.

Atlantic City, away from the casinos. Stay clear of the Baltimore Grill, if it's any help and if it's still even there anymore.
