While we're on the subject of soccer jerseys, why was Turkey wearing turquoise and white jerseys in the Euro Cup games.

That is their away kit. Their other kit is red.

Turquoise was a favored color back in the Ottoman times- particularly in art and architecture. The word turquoise comes from the French word for "Turkish."

Not necessarily a throwback, but definitely a classic:

SportsJournalists.com's Anglophile constituency just choked on their tea and don't know why.

My old man used to wear one of these late-60s Celtic jerseys (tough to get over here, he got it off an old friend who was a Celtic director) without a number on the back. He thought it was sacrilege when they put numbers on the back beginning in the early 80s.

Oh, Argentina and Brazil always have good kits. But not as good as Scotland or England. ;D

And 2MCM, I know NASCAR doesn't have jerseys. But crimsonace said "uniforms."

My favorite Mexican and Spanish teams have practically the same uniform. Chivas de Guadalajara and Atletico Madrid. Coincidental I suppose...I just happened to spend time in the two cities and decided to be a fanboi of the local team. Anyway, very cool look...and also coincidentally, similar to the US flag.
