No NBA team has blown a 3-0 lead in any playoff series.

The 2005 Colts were the best of the Peyton Manning-led run of teams, and probably win the Super Bowl if not for Nick Harper getting in an altercation with his wife and cutting back into Roethlisberger ... and, of course, Mike Vanderjagt's game-ending field goal attempt landing closer to Broad Ripple than the goalpost.

1974-75 Indiana University basketball. Undefeated, Scott May gets hurt, they lose to Kentucky in the final eight. That team was better than the 1976 team that did go undefeated and win it all.

The 1991 UNLV team was sickeningly good before losing to Duke. The 1993 Indiana team blew through the Big Ten before Alan Henderson blew out his knee. Without him, they were still an Elite Eight team and lost to Kansas by four. If not for that and Ted Valentine's vendetta against Bob Knight, Indiana probably would've won back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993.

The Lakers, 1961-62 to 1969-70. Made seven championship finals, lost all but one (1969-70, against the Knicks) to Boston.

Marino's 1984 Dolphins. Had the misfortune of running into one of the league's all-time teams in the Super Bowl. But nobody ever has played and nobody ever will play quarterback better for a season.

    +1.

I was thinking of these guys earlier this morning, but couldn't remember the time range. Thanks, Bob.

Milwaukee Bucks 1980-'87. Always managed to be the second-best team in the East to either 76ers or Celtics. Never even made the Finals.

Hands down the 1990-93 Buffalo Bills. Absolutely stacked team, filled with Hall of Famers, made it to the Super Bowl four straight times with essentially the same players, but didn't win.

1998 Vikings were a lot like the 2007 Patriots except for the one regular-season loss. Record-setting offense. Then Gary Anderson picked a hell of a time for his only missed field goal of the year.

As a Fins fanboi looser I gotta agree with this one, even if the team had basically no running game and a suspect defence. That was the greatest show on turf long before Kurt Warner and Co. showed up.
