    Simers is my favorite, but I don't know if I would say he's the best.

    This falls under the category of who cares? It's subjective and depends on who you read. There are some who think Lupica is the best. Others may say its Simmers.
    There are some good sports writers out there and not all of them are at large metros.

    This is like rounding up suspects for World's Tallest Midget.

    (In a couple of cases mentioned above, there's overlap in the fields.)

    Think Reilly has the popular vote locked up for this, along with the paycheck. Everything else is just subjective blather. And mixing daily beat grinders with magazine artistes is a waste of time within a waste of time. Might as well compare animals and vegetables.
