The once moribund, almost dead, totally forgotten Chicago Blackhawks have just announced that they've surpassed their previous season ticket sales record of 13,425.

In October 2007 they had 3,400 season ticket holders.

    Astonishing.

Rocky Wirtz and John McDonough may have accomplished one of the most spectacular turnarounds in all of sports.

And Kane & Toews haven't hurt. The league needs the Hawks to make the playoffs.

And possibly the best jersey in all of sports.

Jerry Reinsdorf just killed a meth dealer and he doesn't know why.

Rocky Wirtz, like Jim Irsay, learned at his father's knee a valuable lesson -- watch what Dad does, then do the opposite.

They'll blow past Nashville for second in the division and a playoff spot. And speaking of waking the echos, any idea how the Bruins are doing with season ticket sales?

Yeah, but you see in the Leafs case, they could have an entire roster of ECHL players and there'd still be a twenty year waiting list for season tickets.

I thought that was their roster.

The Wirtz family still has a lot of work to do to make Chicago care about the Blackhawks.

And once they do the Bulls are fucked.

I doubt all of Chicago will EVER care about the Blackhawks any more than all of New York will ever care about the Rangers. It's the nature of hockey in the US.

The fact that they've increased their season ticket base by 300% is the story.

No, they've upgraded to an AHL roster.
