Best sports photos

    A few years ago my wife was telling me that her employer had hired a photographer to take some family pictures. My wife knows nothing about sports, certainly nothing about SI or sports photography.

    "Some guy, Walter something. Supposed to be famous in sports."

    "Walter Iooss Jr.?" I asked.

    "I think so."

    I didn't believe her. Then I saw the portraits hanging in their house and a few days later, Iooss actually had a shot of one of the daughter's featured on his website. It was a cool picture. But Dwight Clark shot was better.

    Somewhere I have a poster of Secretariat that Iooss Jr. took. Stunning. Remarkable. I have a book of his shots somewhere, too.

    I would have to go for the Orr one, tho it was a goal that beat the Blues.
