I like "All the Right Moves," but come on - it's not even the best sports movie filmed in Johnstown, Pa. :)

Yeah, but in these dark days, we willingly grasp for what consolations continue to present themselves.

    Ambridge

  4. Raging Bull is the best movie about sports.
    Nothing is remotely close.
It's nobody's favorite, though, because it's so damned dark.

Don't know if it's necessarily my favorite, but hands down the most UNDERRATED sports film no one's heard of:

    Long Gone.

It was Bull Durham before Bull Durham. Deeper plot, superior wit and more in-depth characters.

And if we're going to inlcude pool, The Color of Money has to make the conversation.

"It's in the way that you use it. Boy don't you know."

If only for a great Clapton song.

    Another vote for Slap shot.

    I loved Cinderella Man.

Also Remember the Titans is always a solid choice.

I feel Mystery Alaska is highly underrated.

And of course you can go through the normal list with Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Rocky, etc.
