You could write 20 or 30 Pink Floyd songs on a piece of papaer, close your eyes, point at one, and you could pretty well expect it to be bizarre.

Don't forget the album Marvin Gaye recorded to pay his alimony settlement -- "Here, My Dear."

His ex-wife ended up suing him for libel or something, I think.

 

Considering the "dear" in question was the sister of Berry Gordy and, as a Motown executive, probably a pretty wealthy woman in her own right, she hardly needed the alimony.

Anyway, it sounds like the screw job Phil Spector did to his business partners when he bought out their shares in the Philles record label in the '60s.

As part of the deal, the other guys were supposed to share in the profits of the next two singles by the Crystals. The second and final single of the deal was called "Let's Dance The Screw" and it featured Phil's lawyer chanting, "do the screw." Naturally, it was never commercially released, accounted for no broadcasting royalties and turned no profit that would have to have been shared with the now ex-business partners.
