Best series finales

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by GimpyScribe, May 16, 2007.

  1. I have never seen the Wonder Years finale, but I would love to.
    I always enjoyed that show.

I liked the Seinfeld ending. It was good! *ducking*

I didn't get to see the M.A.S.H. finale until a few years ago and I HATED it. Man it sucked. That show was so funny for years and then (as someone said earlier) the message got in the way.

    Cheers was a classic.
I always wanted to know whose legs were shown walking down the stairs to bar at the end, when Sam's yells out we're closed.

I have to mention Head of the Class. I loved the show for the first couple of years, by the end it needed put out of its misery.

    As a bit of threadjack:
I have long said, NBC should reunite Cheers and Seinfeld for a once-a-year block show. Those are two shows that could get away with a coming back once a year to check up on the cast.
Try to bring everyone (cast, writers and directors) back for one half-hour show a season.
They probably couldn't afford it, but I can dream can't I.

Probably been mentioned here, but I loved the Seinfeld finale. One of my favorite 3 episodes along with The Opera (Crazy Joe Davola) and Kramer rebuilding the Merv Griffin soundstage. I giggle and laugh every time I see that one.

  3. Kramer rebuilidng the Merv Griffin set and the Kenny Rogers episodes are my two all-time favorites.
I also really enjoy the backwards episode where they go to India for the wedding.
90 percent of my favorite episodes involve the Kramer-heavy themes.

Bogg and Jeffrey correct the antics of one Jack the Ripper.

Entire series is coming out on DVD in July.

"Ed" would've had a great series finale if they wrapped it up after season 3. They wrote it like a series finale, with Ed finally getting Carol, because they didn't know if there would be a season 4. Then they got the fourth season, didn't appear like they knew what to do with it, and it turned into a total clunker.

Blossom, definitely. But they must've cut out Six's and Blossom's porn scene. Damn NBC.

In that toast, didn't Mr. C also express his pride in raising "two great kids," completely denying the existence of basketball-dribbling Chuck in season one? Or were we to infer that he raised three kids, but only two were great and Chuck sucked?

JLC was a couple of years prior to that - when it failed, they came back to the main show for the last year or two or whatever it was.

And the fop makes a good point about Howard's claim to have raised "two great kids." I was hoping someone would burst into the wedding to announce they had found Chuck's remains in the attic or something like that.

Piotr, the show shook my youth, what can I say.

I also bought "V: The Series" when it came out on DVD a few years ago. We won't discuss that ending.

I loved the Pasteur episode of Voyagers. When he asks, in an oh-so-'80s fake French accent, "What is football?"

    Loved Voyagers myself.

Didn't think anyone else in the world was ever even tempted to buy V. I was an addict in my youth. Damn, that first miniseries was excellent . . . . .
