I tell ya, Jack Johnson's stuff is classic. While I don't care for all the songs on the Curious George soundtrack, a most the efforts on that album made my regular rotation.

Also, Pearl Jam's CD was fantastic.

I finally get a chance to see Seger live next year.

That will be a big one checked off the list.

Well, ,I own one CD on the entire list. It's official: I'm old. But then that's been official for years.

Whatever happened to music having to be well-written and have a melody to sell?

Dumb is dumb, boys and girls. And I like Bob Seger.

  5. Zeke - you and I don't often agree but this is one time we do. Those folks who started that thread about how great the new Neil Young was going to be sure were dumb.

Greatness often does not translate into sales. I mean the Star Wars prequels did mad bank at the box office, but does anybody really think they were great movies?

    Just saying.

America's music tastes make me sad.
As for Nickelback having one of the top 5 albums of the year, I think this link says all you need to know about them...

By the time you get done waiting for Chris's posts to have intellectual coherence, your boy toy will be able to rent a car. ;)

My boy toy is gonna start popping up on every thread, isn't he? :D

Hell, I'll be a grandmother by the time Chris' posts start making sense.

If you keep trolling for dates at area high schools, yes.

How did you meet? Did he ask you to buy him beer?

This list speaks volumes about the state of music today.

Or it means I'm (getting) old.

    Probably a little of both.

I own two on the list -- Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley. That's amazing that it takes 3.5 million albums to have the biggest seller of the year...or that only 50 or so albums sold more than a million copies.

Threadjack: Is it too early for a "Best albums of 2006" thread?
