Wish I was there with you, Ty.
I stayed next to the NY-NY when I was there, at the Excalibur. The Rodeo was in town.
What sort of tat you thinking of getting?
(Grab me any Ginger Lynn/Jamie Somers/Seka vintage vids that you can scarf up. I'll kindly return your Elliot Smith CD)

DAMN! Now I know who got that Elliot Smith album! Shit, I thought I lost it in a move.
    I'm getting me a four-leaf clover.

Also going. Me and the wife do an annual get-away-from-the-kid trip. Staying at the Golden Nugget, so will check out the Main Street Station deal on Sunday, though I am more interested in playing poker at Binions.

The MGM's sports book used to be a great place to watch games -- more like a lounge than a sports book, because the latter was separated from the former. But they redid it and it now sucks.

Bally's. Hard to find, but if you sit in the right place, you can eat pizza, watch games and horse races and catch the girls walking to the pool in their bikinis. Seating strategy is everything, but it's well worth the effort.

Aside from Lester Bangs, I'll be there too.

I'm getting married this year, as is a high school buddy whose wedding is on Feb. 9. So the guys -- all high school friends basically -- wanted to have a combo bachelor's party. Someone mentioned Vegas in an e-mail, and however many replies later, we decided to fly in from our different points across the country and do it. Making my first trip there.

Not sure where we're going to watch the games Saturday, but we're hitting a sports book, no doubt.

Bally's sports book is in their "shopping mall" area that runs from the casino to the monorail station. IIRC, you go down an escalator from the main casino area (same end of the casino as the north tower elevators), then pass 10-12 stores before making a right-hand turn. Once you make the turn, the book is on the right. Very good place to watch games. My home base for NCAA basketball tourney action a few years back.
