In the humble opinion of SJ, who are the top 3 NBA writers?

    Mine:

    Jonathan Feigen
    Marcus Spears
    Ivan Carter

Ross Siler and Janny Hu are up-and-comers. Phil Miller is always solid.

Marc is a good guy but he couldn't carry Phil Jasner's notebook or Marty McNeal of Sacramento or Johnny Ludden of San Antonio. In time he may reach their level but he's not quite there yet.

I think that pretty much settles it. (And, no, I am not Frank.)

Frank has come a long way but he's still learning the craft.

  9. Are you serious, Boots? Frank has covered the Knicks for at least 10 years. He's covering a bizarre team in the most competitive city in America.

Isola is a great beat guy. He's one of those people who could cover any sport and you'd never know he didn't have 10 years on the beat.

I like D'Alessandro from Newark, just personal preference. Lots of good hoops writers out there.

I'm very serious. I know Frank. I like Frank. He works hard. He's just not at the level of the other guys I mentioned.

Dave D in Newark is still my favorite but I'm a little prejudiced because he's also a friend.
