Best Michael Jackson song?

And, apparently, he wasn't.

 

Has to be "Beat It." For those of us about 10 or 11 years old, without older brothers, it was our first exposure to an awesome Eddie Van Halen guitar solo.

I also loved the first two songs from "Off The Wall" -- "Don't Stop (Til You Get Enough)" and "Rock With You." Those are both among MJ's top-5 solo songs, IHMO.

 

Beat It will forever be my favorite Michael Jackson song. The guitar solo from Van Halen is awesome, and the song simply kicks ass. When it was included with Guitar Hero: World Tour, I went nuts. I play it all the time.

Second favorite is probably Rock With You followed by Thriller, Bad and Billie Jean.

An underrated song - They Don't Really Care About Us from the HIStory album.

 

Good lord, how can the list of options not include a single song from Off the Wall? Inexcusable.

Musically, it's not all that impressive; I always just liked the song.

Anyone who can't find something to like or enjoy in even one Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 song has no heart and should not ever refer to themselves as a music fan.

 

Actually, Time did their top 10 Jackson songs and Man in the Mirror was No. 2.

Tie between "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" since both were on equal rotation simultaneously for awhile in early 83. I thought it was a double-A side at first.
