Best job in the world

Discussion in 'Journalism Jobs' started by hate-d-mah-old-prepjob, Jan 15, 2009.

  1. Maybe someone already posted this, but it seems like such a sweet gig, I'd post it again. 100K to take a 6-month vacation. NICE.

Did it say anything about them forcing you to take a one-week unpaid furlough?

Oh my God. And presumably unlimited snorkeling in the Reef? Sign me up! I'll feed the fish, clean the pool and collect the mail? There must be some sort of catch here.

  4. From what I've heard, there were more than 20,000 applicants the first day it was posted.

Half of those applicants should be journalists. Actually, looking at the ad itself, it would be a tremendous job for an outdoors writer. And how many newspapers have pushed those jobs aside...

You know who should be applying for this job?

    Everyone.

Seriously, though ... what's the catch? If it sounds too good to be true, etc. ...

Ten applicants, plus a wild card. First step in the process is to create a 60-second video. Sounds like the setup for a reality show.
    I think that's the catch.

Call me crazy but I'd do a lot of things for $100k and being casted in a reality TV show would definitely be included in that.

So ... even the world's best job has potentially deadly drawbacks! Solution: Be independently wealthy!
