Gov't Mule has had countless players sit in with them on their tracks, but even better are all the tracks of covers (it's become a staple of their live shows) in which they use other artists, often the ones they're covering.

Of the dozens I listen to, this cover of Dave Mason with Mason on guitar is my favorite:

I was going to post some Mule-Bonamassa collaborations for MH, but the quality kinda sucks.

Mick Fleetwood and John McVie sat in on Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy" album when Mac was at its commercial zenith. "Werewolves of London" leapt onto the charts mainly on name recognition.

Same thing with "Sentimental Lady" by former Mac member Bob Welch. Welch had cut the song earlier on FM's 1972's "Bare Trees," but re-did it in '77 with Nicks singing backup. For about a year or so in 76-77 the general belief seemed to be that anything any member of Fleetwood Mac even farted in the general direction of was going to be a hit.

I seem to remember Queen and Bowie getting equal billing on Under Pressure.

That, and extend that out to 1978-79 with Kenny Loggins' "Whenever I Call You Friend", Walter Egan's "Magnet & Steel" and John Stewart's "Gold" among others.

Nicks was in demand all over SoCal, and apparently so was the rest of the group, as "Tusk" famously included USC.

Starman, need a ruling on "Give Peace a Chance."

    Who gets the nod?

Allman is brilliant on this song, which is a highlight of both men's careers.

Another one: Junior Walker blowing the sax solo in Foreigner's "Urgent".
