Best golf course you've ever played

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Cosmo, Jul 24, 2006.

  1. Before this goes much further let just say now: Screw you guys. I ENVY you all and the courses you have played. I have played some nice courses, but nothing on a national scale. I'm jealous as hell of you bastards. I hope you all end up caddying for Jerry Kelly at some shitty muny course in Sheepherder Montana....

I've played the Stadium and Valley courses at the TPC and while both kicked my ass -- except on the par 3s, where I actually made a birdie or two -- I liked the Valley course more. As someone else put it, it's not quite as demanding and to me it was more scenic.

The most stunning part of the Stadium course was looking back behind the blue tees and seeing where the pros play from. Most of the pro tees were about 25-40 yards behind the blues.

    Bushwood ain't bad either.

    1) Oakland Hills
    2) Hazeltine National
    3) Inverness (Toledo)
    4) Capstone (while my cart partner was a PITA, he did pay for the round, so I had that going for me)

My local muni (hey, it's the only place I've broken 80  :)  )

Also loved the four holes at Brickyard Crossing inside Indianapolis Motor Speedway, played during a Nascar testing day. Very cool.

Can't remember the name of the course I played in Taos, New Mexico, but was at Angel Fire.........wow.

Walking Stick Golf Club, Pueblo, Colorado.

In my mind, I've shot 68 at Augusta a couple dozen times.
