    Here's a couple for your consideration ...

    1. The "Friends" episode where they play touch football in the park on Thanksgiving. Pretty funny stuff.
    2. The "Seinfeld" episode where Elaine is dating the guy who has the same name as a serial killer. They go to a Giants game ... his name gets called over the P.A. ... hijinks ensue.
    3. The episode of "The Cosby Show" where Rudy plays — and dominates — youth football. "Sweet Feet, sweet feet, sweet feet!"
    4. The episode of "The Simpsons" where Homer stays home from church to watch the Super Bowl. His house catches on fire and Ned Flanders saves his life.

Wasn't there a "Quantum Leap" where Scott Bakula leapt into the body of a college quarterback?

No wait, that was "Necessary Roughness."

Without a doubt, the best out-of-context use of that Music Man number in the history of media.

From "Patriot Games", Episode #420 . . . on YouTube, to those unfamiliar.

    Before Mikey shows up ...

The Saved By The Bell College Years episode where Zack and Slater help Mike Rogers, played by the great Bob Golic, make an NFL comeback.

  4. Great pull.

The Simpsons episode where Lisa's love for Homer depends on which team wins the Super Bowl.

Two Little House on the Prairie episodes: 1. The one where the team sucks until a huge blind kid becomes the center on the team. 2. The one where the famous player comes back to coach the team, and forces his kid to play to carry on his name. He also nearly kills Albert by forcing him to play with broken ribs.

The Family Ties episode where the parents go out of town and Mallory wrecks the car. Alex decides to rent the house out to fans coming in for the local college's Homecoming football game. The fans decide to have a party afterward, and kidnapped the other team's kangaroo mascot, who's hopping around the living room when Mom and Dad come home.

What about the Magnum P.I. episode where Magnum goes undercover during football training camp to protect his old backup at Navy. T.C., who we learn was an All-America tight end at Grambling, also goes undercover. T.C. is close to making the team but get injured during a fight with the bad guys. Pretty good episode.

Yes, well done. One of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. Nailed that whole soccer on BBC thing perfectly.

I was surprised to see Beckenbauer in the lineup.

The M*A*S*H episode where they have to defuse a bomb during the Army-Navy game.

"All riiiiight. I made a touchdown!"

Not to mention Stewie torturing Brian (twice) for welshing on a bet, after he stupidly picked Mike Tyson to beat Carol Connors in "Celebrity Boxing."

Don't forget the other "Brady Bunch" episode where Greg gets hurt and is unable to play, so he becomes the team photographer and accidentally captures an SI-worthy shot of what should have been his team's game-winning TD if the officials hadn't blown the call.

Of course, Greg and Mike just happened to have all the necessary equipment at home to repeatedly blow up the image (in mere minutes, each time) until they had indisputable proof that the TD was good.

Watching intently at home in Las Vegas was a young man named Gilbert Grissom. As the combined genius of Mike and Greg Brady revealed itself, a light bulb blinked on over young Gilbert's head and the voice of the incomparable Peter Cetera sang out....

"You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration....."
