    Late friend of mine used to say he could get into any hockey rink in the world for any game just by carrying a clipboard - or these days one of those zip-up portfolio things - and looking like he was supposed to be there.

    It just hit me the other day when I walked into an arena through the unlocked front door without a media credential and passed about 20 security guards, none of whom asked me where my credential was, that things have indeed gone back to the way they were pre-9/11 in some places.

    Wear some decent clothes, have a computer bag over your shoulder and apparently you're good to go.
