In a more dramatical sense of comedy, the scene in Kramer vs. Kramer, when Dustin Hoffman tells his son to finish his dinner before he can have ice cream, and the son, in his first show of rebellion, gets up to get the ice cream, wherein the showdown begins, and the kids chomps on a spoonful of ice cream then gets spanked. The undercurrent of the scene offset the tension.

From Airplane:"The fog is getting thicker"/"and Leon's getting larger" and
"Let's go to the tower"/"The tower? Rapunzel, Rapunzel"
    or
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's lines as the co-pilot

From History of the World Part I:
-- The human chessboard scene ("everyone jump the queen")
-- The chariot chase scene (with the wacky weed)
    -- "The Inquisition"

From The Producers (remember it was a Zero Mostel/Gene Wilder film before it was a Broadway play)
    - "Springtime for Hitler"

I thought the scene was funny, kid testing dad for the first time, the audacity of the kid. It was dramatic, but I found a lot of humor in the kid's wanton behavior. I'm not saying it's Fletch using the fake name John Cocktoastin, but there was some humor it it. Then again, it probably wasn't one of the best comic scenes in movies.

God, I forgot about the "Jump the Queen" scene. Priceless!

  9. The "National Anthem" scene in Slap Shot
The party scene in Miracle of Morgan's Creek
Going to pick up Fawn Leibowitz in National Lampoon's Animal House
The "Sabre Dance" scene in One, Two, Three
Cop loses an ear in Reservoir Dogs
The lawnmower scene in Braindead a.k.a. Dead Alive

Blake Edwards was always great for comic scenes. The glow in the dark condom scene in "Skin Deep" still cracks me up.
