Best college QB you ever saw

I'm a little surprised that no one has mentioned Vince Young yet. He played at a different level in college, and was able to perform at an incredibly high level in the two biggest games of his college career.

From a single-game, in-person level, the best performance I ever saw from a college QB was Drew Bledsoe vs. Fresno State in 1992. Washington State came back for a 39-37 victory, with Bledsoe throwing for two touchdowns in the final four minutes (he also ran for two touchdowns in the game and had 320 yards passing). Even when compared to his opposing QB (Trent Dilfer, who was a pretty fair college QB before becoming a "game manager" in the pros) he just looked like a different type of player.

He was before my time, but how was Joe Namath at Alabama?

And I daresay, Namath at Alabama was before everyone on this board's time now that spnited has passed on.

Yeah, it says "You ever saw"

If that means in person, I would have to change my selections. I never saw Testaverde, Manning, Tebow or Newton in person in college.

Stabler was better than Namath. :p

Of those I've seen in person ... Woodrow Dantzler anyone? He was Vick before Vick, with not quite as strong an arm. The dude was an absolute x-factor.

In all seriousness, for me it's John Elway.

Woody was fun to watch at Clemson. Ronald Curry at UNC was also a beast.

Donovan McNabb at Syracuse at a time when the Big East had a pretty damn good Miami, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Boston Garbage.
