I'm not saying they're the best now, but back in about 1986 or so I had a burger at Fuddrucker's that has not been equaled in my personal experience. I love the chopped lettuce and tomato bar and added a little BBQ sauce, some mayo and a little cheese sauce. The beef, the bun and the fixings seemed to combine for a burger I've been looking to replicate ever since.

Tommy's on Beverly and Rampart, the original.
With my dad, after a summer ride, listening to The Drifters, The Coasters, The Platters and The Delphonics.
Sipping — more like gulping — a thick chocolate shake.
Picking up the greasy prize, while the chili drips off onto my fries.
Laughing and chatting with Pop, on our way to a baseball card store.
    I love my dad.

    Some damn good memories.

Kincaid's in Fort Worth (and now Southlake) Texas. Their burgers can't be beat.

My favorite is the Awful-Awful burger from the Nugget Diner in Reno, Nev. The Nugget is this tiny slots-only casino that isn't worth walking into for any reason except the little red-stool 24-hour diner in the back. The Awful-Awful (so named because "it's awful big and it's awful good!") is huge and is served on a bed of fries. Always go for the vanilla shake with it.

I'm not sure where I bought the burger, but I remember eating it on the old round metal picnic table I had back in Ohio.

Man, I loved the heck out of that thing.

I'm not a huge fan of Weber's which is insanely busy in the summer. Best choice in Ontario for me is SuperBurger on Hwy. 10 in beautiful downtown Primrose. Awesome fries and onion rings too.

Best I've had in the US of A is the Spikeburger at Spike's Keg O' Nails in Grayling, Mich.

Some personal favorites include Booches in Columbia; Hi-Boy on Blue Ridge Cutoff in KC -- a must before a Royals game.

I can't remember the name of the place, but the best I had recently was in Joliet, IL. It was just up the street from the Jackhammers park there.. burger stuffed with pepper jack, cheddar and bacon.

I love this joint, and I love this burger. Nice call.

It's not a big sloppy vagina of a burger, but P.J. Clarke's in NYC serves a great cheeseburger, one of my favorites, especially with onion strings. It's very simple, almost like a Wonder bun, but it just tastes really good. Plus, they'll cook it so that it's still bloody, which I like, and which is hard to find these "I don't want to die" days.

The rooftop cheeseburger at the Parque Central in Havana is my all-time favorite burger. That fucko is still kicking hard, even days after you've eaten it.

Goddamn, I love a good burger. Probably my favorite food.

If you're ever drinking in Northeast Minneapolis, hit any of the establishments that advertise a "jucy lucy" burger.

Ground beef pattied around a slab of cheddar cheese and fried onions. Cooked until the cheese becomes molten hot.

    Fanfuckingtastic.

Soggy Dollar Bar- Jost Van Dyke, BVI: Best cheeseburger I've ever had. Scenery doesn't suck either.

There used to be a place called Blimpie Burger in Ann Arbor, not sure if it's still there. But it served outstanding greasy burgers that you could put just about anything on. Their motto was "We're Cheaper Than Food".
