Recently bought by Bacardi. The good news is that they are going to open a distillery in downtown Louisville.

As long as you're here talking spirits, have you ever found any recipe to use that Mount Gay rum you have?

The bottled stuff is lousy no matter where it is made.

Should be happy it is brewed on the continent and doesn't spend a week getting bumped around on a boat.

One thing about craft beer that I think macro and some craft drinkers miss is the importance of freshness, especially in the smaller breweries that don't filter or pasteurize. It makes so much difference in flavor and getting old beer can turn people off.

Yup. And buying Euro beers here shows. Lack of freshness is there for sure. Still, you get a hint of what a great Euro beer can be.
This is why I try to tap from a local spout of the 6 breweries we have in the area. Local and fresh!

Kona doesn't "bottle" beer in Hawaii. Even if you buy it in bottles in Hawaii, it was brewed in Washington or Oregon and shipped in. Kona only brews for kegs in Kona. They don't make bottles in Hawaii. Too expensive to import bottles, fill them, and send them back. Learned that at a Kona Brewing tour last summer. Yes, I thought it was weird but it's all about $$$.

My friends Mr. Whitman and Mr. YankeeFan once posted on this very “forum”?!

Now I am suspecting they are in business “cahoots” together.

    They are “turncoats.” ;)
