Beach Boys Breakup Mid-tour

    This would be roughly equivalent to Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Julian Lennon and Dhani Harrison going on tour as "The Beatles," playing half a dozen shows, then Starr fires the other three and hires David Lee Roth and two guys from Loverboy as the replacements, then continues to tour as "The Beatles."

    That 12-year-old movie on the family has been playing lately on BYH-Classic. Always loved their stuff but never "knew" much about them (other than Dennis' dealings with Manson from Bugliosi's book). God, I hated "Kokomo", though.

    Saw a billboard yesterday promoting their upcoming show at one of the local casinos and thought it was odd that only Love and Johnston were pictured. Now I know why.

    For Brian Wilson to have done as much of this tour as he did is an amazing upset. It was a brutal schedule, and he's not what you'd call in robust health.
