Wow, that article really hit home for me. Does any African-American want to take my low-paying job in Poduck, USA? I'll give it to you.

 

Wait, it took someone until October of this year to find that? No hue and cry when the list was released?

 

The "notable" stories are the ones honorably mentioned in the back of the book. That list isn't generally available until just before publication.

 

So the best of 2006 is just now out? I thought we'd be on the verge of the best of 2007 release?

 

The 2007 release - officially out October 10th - is comprised of pieces published in 2006. Hence the date on Scoop's honorable mention.

 

I saw BASW 2007 in a bookstore yesterday.

I thumbed through it a bit but could not pick it up.

This was in Vermont.

 

I picked it up yesterday, hoping to read a chunk today.

 

Shit. I thought this meant I'd made the cut.

 

So any guess as to who REALLY wrote Scoop's piece?
