If that guy had touched it, Punto might have kicked his ass.

Hell of a game by Santana. Hope it isn't wasted. Be interested to see what kind of leash Zito is on here. Rondell White absolutely crushed that high fastball last inning.

Twins strand a runner at third base, still 2-1 A's going to the ninth.

Reason #927 on why we love Steve Stone:

On ESPN radio, during the bottom of the 8th inning, Stoney mentions that Maca has to start considering pulling Zito because he's starting to tire and his pitches may start going upstairs. Ensuing pitch, double down the line off of Zito.

What a great way to start the postseason, with this beaut of the game.

So much for that ... Big Hurt with his second home run, a blast off Jesse Crain. What a game for Thomas.

Nnot for nothing, but everything I have read the last three days about the Oakland offense was -- don't let Frank Thomas beat you.

The Twins inability to move a runner over in the eighth costs them game one.

    Never thought I'd type that.

    Nahhh...

It's Oakland. They'll find a way to lose.

  12. Well, the two home runs certainly look like that's what beat the Twins. But giving up a two-out RBI double to Scudaro is the inexcusable part of Santana's day. Next I would go with the Twins inability to move runners over or have a key hit. THEN, I put Frank's homers as what beat the Twins.
